Resources for the Candidates

The Elections Handbook contains the official election rules and regulations. ALL candidates running for a position should have an understanding of the information in this Handbook.

Regulations External to Elections Students are responsible for knowing and following all University policies, even if they are not mentioned in this summary file.

Intent Forms (Submit individually to file for candidacy;  If filing for SBP/SBVP joint ticket, indicate which office you are specifically filing for, and who your running mate is. Even if you are running on a joint ticket, EACH PERSON MUST SUBMIT AN INTENT TO RUN FORM. Filing will not be considered complete until BOTH parties have turned in an intent to run form and received email confirmation from the Board of Elections that it has been processed.) **If you accessed this before January 4th, 2017, please be mindful of the updated dates for the spring 2017 election cycle.**

Representative Authorization Form (Submit only if a candidate must send a representative to the All Candidates Meeting)

Expense Report Form (Must be submitted according to the Elections Handbook rules. In person submissions should be turned into Talley 4230.)

BOE is currently working to schedule debates and those dates and times will be posted as soon as possible. We are also working with all of the College Councils in hopes that they will host debates/meet & greets with Senate candidates.


*All candidates must attend one of the two meetings. If a candidate cannot attend, he/she must send a representative (with a signed Representative Authorization Form) in his/her place.
**Candidates must notify the Board of Elections of all corrections to the draft ballot by this time. Under no circumstances will changes be made after this time.

Violation Submission

Please be mindful of Violation Hearing decorum.

In the event you have witnessed a candidate breaking a rule in the Handbook or in University Policies, please submit the information to elections-commission@ncsu.edu in the following format:
