The Board of Elections aims to maintain an effective structure of voting procedures, provide informative resources with a non-biased approach, and give willing candidates the opportunity to serve their student body in a consistent, respectful, and transparent manner.

Fall Elections Process

Each Fall, students have the opportunity to run for the following positions:

    • First-Year Student Senate (10 seats)*
    • Graduate and Lifelong Education Student Senate (2 seats)
    • Any other open Senate seats

*Students are eligible to run for first year seats if this is their first fall semester at NC State, whether it be as a freshman or transfer student

Spring Elections Process

Each Spring, students have the opportunity to run for the following positions:

    • Student Body President & Vice President (Joint Ticket)
    • Student Senate President
    • Student Body Treasurer
    • Student Body Chief Justice
    • Union Activities Board President
    • Inter Residence Council President
    • Student Centers Board of Directors President
    • Student Centers Board of Directors (4 seats)
    • Student Media Board of Directors (3 seats)
    • Student Senate
      • College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (6 seats)
      • College of Sciences (6 seats)
      • College of Design (2 seats)
      • College of Education (2 seats)
      • College of Engineering (10 seats)
      • College of Natural Resources (3 seats)
